Tukes Catering
£9.50 per hour

Positions available (Please specify preference when applying) :

30 hours per week -5 days per week flexible between the hours of 9-5 (must be prepared to work weekends and bank holidays, days and hours to suit the needs of the business)

18 hours per week (flexible) -3 days per week Saturday, Sunday and Monday (flexibility is required for the needs of the business)



An opportunity has arisen for experienced Cooks to join the Tukes catering team on our acute sites. The candidates will ideally have experience in working with service users with special dietary needs.

A friendly personality and positive attitude is an essential requirement of the role. You must be able to work independently and within a small team, enjoy meeting people and have a diverse outlook.

Duties will include:-

  • Working as a Cook within the Tukes catering team undertaking duties in relation to running a kitchen based on our acute sites,providing nutritionally sound meals to service users and customers
  • The Tukes kitchens are part of a project designed to train and develop service users’ skills and abilities in catering and associated areas, whilst ensuring all food and hygiene regulations are adhered to within the kitchen environment
  • The post holder will ensure a consistent approach to standards is met on all sites.
  • A flexible and positive approach is essential to the role as you will be trained to work on a number of sites depending on the needs of the business in a busy kitchen environment
  • Providing a high standard of customer services at all time for our service users and visitors
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Completion of documentation
  • Supporting trainees and those undertaking work placement opportunities
  • Ensuring products are stored within HASPP Standards to meet with the prescribed Health and safety at work policies and regulations
    • To order, receive, monitor and manage supplies delivered to the site if required
    • Supporting and mentoring people with mental health problems that may be on work placements within the project providing support and guidance
    • Liaising with support workers to ensure the ongoing training of members is productive and supportive
    • Daily cleaning of allocated areas and equipment within those areas as required
    • Resolving everyday problems and events in line with service business needs and priorities

All positions are subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and medical clearance. Evidence of valid professional registration and appropriate DBS clearances will also be required where relevant. All posts will also be subject to successful completion of a 12 week probationary period.
