Make a difference with us

If you are looking for somewhere you can make a real difference and are passionate about keeping people safe, well and out of hospital, a career with us may be just what you’re looking for. At Solent NHS Trust, we strive to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of our communities.

We are proud to be an organisation which is focused on our people and we welcome people who share our values to come and work with us.

  • To be a caring, flexible and supportive place to work
  • To deliver the best value for money

A great opportunity exists for an experienced senior nurse leader who will have a passion to deliver the best care for our patients on our wards. Retirement of the current post holder creates a leadership vacancy for our four Inpatient Rehabilitation Units at an exciting time for rehabilitation within Southampton and South-West Hampshire.

Working alongside the Service Manager and Clinical Leads (Consultant Geriatrician and Rehabilitation Consultant), this will be a key nursing leadership role, as part of the wider service leadership team, responsible for delivering improved health outcomes and wellbeing for our patients and their families. It is essential that as a nurse leader in this team you can demonstrate and role model the 6 C’s of care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment through your leadership of the wards, development of relationships with all Solent’s existing services as well as commissioners, secondary care and multi-agency partners in social care.

We currently operate two level 3 rehabilitation units, a Level 2b Neurological Rehabilitation unit and a Neuropsychiatric unit which provide a range of specialist rehabilitation and as part of Solent’s, ‘Futures project’ we are moving to bring all our community rehabilitation units onto a single site with a new purpose built ‘state of the art’ rehabilitation centre. If you have the clinical, governance and leadership skills, with knowledge and experience of inspiring, motivating and influencing others, then this position will provide an opportunity for you to help shape and implement the future inpatient rehabilitation strategy for the staff and people of Southampton and wider Hampshire and IOW population.

Relocation Package will be considered where appropriate.
