About us:

For over four decades Mountbatten Hampshire have provided outstanding palliative care to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire. To achieve our goal to support more patients we need to establish our own specialist Bank to support our outstanding teams who work across all our service provisions.

About the role:

You will be responsible for providing symptom management and complex end of life care to patients living with life limiting conditions. You will be able to make a real difference to people’s lives every single day supporting our patients and their families. You will also be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based patient care and for providing invaluable support to the patients family. We have shifts available to pick up within the IPU or the community. As a bank Nurse you will be offered the unfulfilled shifts to complete our rotas, these could be earlies, lates, long days as well as unsocial hours including weekends/nights and bank holidays. You will work closely with the recruitment lead to keep your availability up to date so that we are able to offer you shifts swiftly and smoothly, these may be in advance or at short notice.

About You:

You will be a Registered nurse with current NMC registration, who is able to demonstrate a commitment to their own CPD. You will have excellent clinical skills and experience and be able to work under supervision and on your own imitative to provide the highest standards of care and support to your patients and their families. You will have good communication skills, with sound experience of symptom management gained with a Hospice/Hospital or Nursing home environment. You will be willing to learn new skills and expression to develop your own practices. If taking up shifts within the community, you will have a full current driving licence and use of a vehicle for business purposes as you will be required to visit, patients, their families, and carers together with other professionals outside of the Hospice location.
