The Practice is a 6 Partner, 11 GP Practice employing a wide mix of staff including Advanced Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Phlebotomist, Pharmacist, Physician Associate, Managers and a number of Reception, Administration and Clerical Staff. The Practice is a RCGP research practice and an accredited training practice for years 2 through 5 medical students, F2’s and Registrars, and offers opportunities to progress and develop. This is a varied and challenging role where clinical supervision and opportunities for training and development are provided by a supportive team.

The practice undertakes family planning, coil, smear, baby clinics and minor surgery as well as primary care, diabetic, respiratory, cardiac and frailty clinics. Several GPs provide in house joint injections, ENT and other procedures. The main surgery also hosts a range of other visiting NHS and private medical services. This is situated opposite Shotley Bridge Hospital, where we also provide medical cover to its rehabilitation ward.

The practice provides a supportive and friendly environment with a focus on a tightly knit team that can rely on each other. If you have a good work ethic, can work independently, whilst being supported, and being supportive of your colleagues, then this is the place for you.

The practice works together to provide the best possible service to our patients in an environment of openness and genuine friendship.

The successful Advanced Care Practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children. This may be by face to face consultation, telephone or video consultation.

Informal visits are welcomed.
