Our commitments to you

We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We know through research and experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment that delivers better outcomes. We welcome applications irrespective of people's age, disability, sex, gender identity and gender expression, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or other personal circumstances. We have policies and procedures in place to work towards ensuring that all applicants are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process, including the consideration of reasonable adjustments for people who have a disability.

Applications are warmly welcomed from applicants who wish to apply for a position on the basis of a smarter or flexible working arrangement. Where candidates are successful at interview, such requests will be taken under consideration and we will aim to accommodate these wherever the needs of the service allow.

BSW CCG seeks to be a supportive, caring employer and expects all colleagues to behave in a professional and respectful manner and to demonstrate our values. These values underpin our vision for the people of Bath & North East Somerset (Banes), Swindon & Wiltshire, that through an integrated care model local people will live well in a supportive community with joined up care which is underpinned by specialist expertise, and delivered in the best place, by the most appropriate people.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced engagement professional to join our ambitious communications and engagement team and ensure local people, including our most vulnerable communities, are given the opportunity to have a voice in how we plan and deliver services and empower them to lead healthy lives.

The role

The role of engagement and insights manager sits within the CCG’s communications and engagement team. We are looking for someone to join us and help realise our vision to be experts in our field, trusted and strategic business partners, not only to staff at the CCG but also our local health and care partners.

Reporting to the Head of Public Engagement and Insights, you will take a lead role in planning, delivering and evaluating engagement activity for CCG, locality and system-wide projects and transformation programmes. The successful applicant will have responsibility for providing specialist advice and support to a range of staff internally and externally in relation to patient and public engagement and will work closely with Healthwatch and third sector organisations across our region.

About you

You will ideally have 3 – 5 years engagement experience, be enthusiastic, self-motivated, able to work creatively to find solutions, an excellent communicator with very good writing skills, have experience of running events and experienced in working with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be able to present findings of patient and public engagement activities in a meaningful way.

The applicant must be able to form effective professional relationships with patients, staff and public from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds.

You don’t necessarily need an NHS background, but we’re looking for someone who has the passion, energy and stamina to support us as we strive to achieve our vision of empowering people to lead their best life.

About us

Our CCG is responsible for planning and commissioning health and care services across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire and we have an annual budget of £1.4 billion. These are unprecedented times for all health and care services as we set out on our Covid-19 recovery, prepare for the next phase of the Covid vaccination programme, plan for winter and continue our service transformation plans.  As the Health and Care Bill passes through Parliament, we are also preparing to transfer our people and functions to a new formally established Integrated Care System (ICS) from April 2022. The measures in the Bill relating to ICSs are expected to become law which means we will have a broader range of responsibilities, empowering us to better join up health and care, improve population health and reduce health inequalities.

The majority of our staff are working from home and we will be adopting an agile way of working from the autumn when our offices in Devizes, Chippenham and Swindon will formally re-open (sites also due to be available in Bath, Salisbury and Trowbridge).

The role will be challenging but exciting and you will be well supported. If you feel you have the knowledge, skills and experience to make it a success, we look forward to receiving your application.
