The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust

Ophthalmology department

Staff nurse

Band 5

Salary £24,907- £30,615

Part time 20hrs

Closing Date 13/08/2021

Applications are invited for a permanent, part time (20 hours per week) Band 5 Staff nurse role in the Ophthalmology department based at Rotherham Community Health Centre.

This post would be suitable for a nurse with a desire to specialise in the area of ophthalmology.

We are looking for a highly motivated qualified nurse to join our supportive team of qualified nurses and health care support workers. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to undertaking training necessary to this role. Good communication and organisational skills will be essential to this role.

The post offers the opportunity to become specialised in eye care treatments and clinical processes. The clinics can be very busy and demanding and although experience within ophthalmology is not essential to the role, it would be an advantage.

As a department, we are dedicated to the teaching of junior doctors, medical students, pre-registration opticians and other health care professionals so experience of this or willingness to contribute to this would be advantageous.

The department encourages regular involvement in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and takes part in departmental clinical audit, as well as personal review/development processes.

In addition to a first level registered nurse qualification, previous formal ophthalmic training is advantageous and ENB registration is mandatory.
