Appointment of Substantive Operating Department Practitioners and Registered Anaesthetic Nurses - Theatres

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint enthusiastic Operating Department Practitioners or Registered Anaesthetic Nurses for its Theatre Department. Applicants will be hard-working, have excellent team-working skills and have a passion for the delivery of high quality patient care.

The posts would suit newly qualified ODPs or Anaesthetic Nurses looking to consolidate their training as well as candidates with more experience. Successful candidates will either be; HCPC registered or soon to be registered as an ODP, or NMC registered (RN1) with the anaesthetic course.

The Department

The Trust’s operating theatre complex is situated at the acute hospital site, within the Division of Surgery, and consists of 11 theatres. The division of Surgery is active and dynamic, with thriving collaborative working arrangements across South Yorkshire.

The department is able to offer a supportive working environment whilst offering you the experience of caring for elective and emergency surgical patients. We support operating in a number of specialties, including: ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Maxilla Facial, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Colorectal and Breast Surgery. We also support emergency operating and some satellite activity.

We are committed to developing a multi-skilled workforce and you will also have the opportunity to rotate in other specialist roles such as scrub or recovery, if you choose.

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.
