Registered Children’s Nurse – Paediatric Outpatients

Band 5

Part Time – 15.5 hours Fixed term contract for 1 year

We are seeking a dynamic and committed Registered Children’s Nurse to join our acute team in the Paediatric Outpatients which is part of the Children’s Resource Centre (CRC) at Darent Valley Hospital.

The successful applicant will ideally have post registration experience of working with children in a hospital setting, with an interest in supporting consultant and nurse led clinics in specialist areas. Previous phlebotomy skills would be desirable but not training will be given.

The Children Resource Centre (CRC) encompasses Acute Paediatric Outpatients and the Child Development Team, caring for children attending for a wide variety of outpatient and therapy appointments. Our team consists of a Paediatric Sister, Registered Children’s Nurses, Paediatric Consultants, Health Care Assistants/Phlebotomists and Clinic Receptionists. In the CRC we run specialist outreach clinics in epilepsy, allergy, diabetes, sickle cell, rheumatology and respiratory problems for children and young people. You will have an opportunity to work closely with these professionals who care for children and their families, and develop areas of special interest.

The role is based largely at Darent Valley hospital but with flexibility to work cross site at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.

You will be supported by the senior nursing team and the paediatric Practice Development Nurse. The Trust has close links with the University of Greenwich and encourages staff development.
