Clinical Fellow – ED Department - Tier 3 – Pay Scale MT03 plus Additional Rota Payments

The post-holder would be welcomed into a large middle grade team of 18 Emergency Medicine medics, delivering 24/7 care to patients in North West Surrey. All medical staff will be supporting effective patient centred care, however, 10% of the post’s time will be spent involved in one’s own development or wider service improvement activities; this could include, clinical pathway development, clinical audits, training and education, as well as estate changes.

We are looking for someone to join an engaged, high energy team and add their own unique value to the already diverse team. 90% of the post if clinical, spent working amongst their middle grade colleagues, under the oversight of the EM Consultant Team and supporting the Foundation Year Two trainees. The post offers weekly protected department teaching and benefits from education supervision from an EM consultant.

Ashford and St Peters is the largest non-teaching Trust in the region, and provides a full range of Acute Hospital Services. Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of around 450,000 from an area which includes Chertsey, Guildford, Woking, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Staines, Bedfont, Feltham and Spelthorne. There are 413 beds in a range of specialties. There is a full range of imaging services including CT and MRI scanning, and Laboratory Services. The Emergency Department at St Peters’ is the largest and busiest department in Surrey operating a 24 hour service and seeing 110,000 patients a year.

Our main sites are Ashford Hospital, TW15 3AA near to Heathrow Airport and St Peter’s Hospital, KT16 0RQ which is close to junction 11, M25. We also operate services at Woking Bradley Unit and Milford Hospital. A free shuttle bus service operates between Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals.
