Clinical Teaching Fellows – Emergency Medicine Department

Fixed Term for 12 months

This advert is for two identical exciting posts, both with dual responsibilities around undergraduate teaching as well as delivering effective care as a Clinical Fellow within St Peter’s Emergency Department.

It is twelve month fixed term contract that is aimed at doctors with clinical experience within Emergency Medicine and a keen interest in teaching medical undergraduates. Ashford and St Peter’s have strong links with two London Medical Schools; Imperial College and St George’s and have gained an impressive reputation as a centre of excellence for student experience. As a key member of the undergraduate teaching faculty you will be innovative in the design and delivery of teaching programmes, create a library of teaching materials and resources and contribute to the assessment and feedback of students’ abilities.

Successful candidates who meet the course requirements will be able to access sponsorship to undertake a formal teaching qualification (Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education).

These posts are suitable for those who have just completed their Foundation Programme training, as well as those who have undertaken ST1-2 training. You will be joining a team of existing Clinical Teaching Fellows to become part of a developing faculty that has the specific remit teaching medical students.

Ashford and St Peters is the largest non-teaching Trust in the region, and provides a full range of Acute Hospital Services. Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of around 450,000 from an area which includes Chertsey, Guildford, Woking, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Staines, Bedfont, Feltham and Spelthorne. There are 413 beds in a range of specialties. There is a full range of imaging services including CT and MRI scanning, and Laboratory Services. The Emergency Department at St Peters’ is the largest and busiest department in Surrey operating a 24 hour service and seeing 110,000 patients a year.

Where to find us:

Our main sites are Ashford Hospital, TW15 3AA near to Heathrow Airport and St Peter’s Hospital, KT16 0RQ which is close to junction 11, M25. We also operate services at Woking Bradley Unit and Milford Hospital. A free shuttle bus service operates between Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals.
