An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates Governance Team for a Trust Wide Fire Advisor.

The key function of the Fire Advisor is to provide the professional expertise to enable TRFT to achieve the highest possible standards of patient and staff safety and is responsible for providing specialist fire safety advice to TRFT involving all fire safety matters relating to people and premises.

The Fire Advisor is responsible for promoting compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, Health Technical Memorandum, Guidance, Firecode and that the TRFT fire policy is developed, implemented and effective. Undertake suitable and sufficient assessments of fire risks within premises owned, occupied or under the control of the Trust.

The Estates Governance Team provides a range of multidisciplinary specialist expert advice and assistance to a wide range of services, staff and senior managers. The successful candidate must have proven organisational skills and be committed to consistently delivering a quality service, which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships. Significant experience of undertaking fire risk assessments and compliance is essential.

The role will require a flexible approach to work, with and manage their work load and the reporting teams and to be able to work as part of a team and also under their own initiative.

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

New starters to the NHS will start at the bottom of the advertised salary band.
