The NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit is a vibrant, dynamic and innovative employer. We provide specialist services to clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), NHS providers, GP practices and to local authorities.

Our Digital Transformation and Consultancy function leads the delivery of a wide portfolio of national, regional and local programmes to clients across the CSU, including but not limited to:


  • STPs/ICSs
  • NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups
  • GP Practices / Primary Care Networks
  • NHS England
  • NHS Providers
  • Her Majesty’s Prison Service

Midlands and Lancashire CSU have been extremely successful in delivering high quality services across our ever-growing customer base. To protect and enhance our ability to support our clients; we are now actively developing our portfolio of services, so these align to existing and future demand.

As part of developing and exposing our service offer, we are looking to establish a new post in Senior Business Development Manager role. The postholder will focus on understanding and developing market ready service offers which dovetail with our customers’ needs and challenges.

Experience in interpreting latent market needs and developing a corelating service offer is essential. As is the ability to credibility engage across a wide range of stakeholders at varying levels of seniority to communicate the MLCSU value proposition.

The postholder with be required to operate across both a regional and national footprint.

The successful candidate will have excellent senior-level leadership and relationship management skills. The Business Development Manager will have the autonomy to grow our market offer and customer base utilising a creative approach to formulate a viable strategy to underpin this.

This will be a 12-month fixed term position, working 37.5 hours per week. This opportunity has potential to be extended based on performance and business needs.
