We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

An opportunity has arisen for a passionate, friendly and enthusiastic individual to work as a Hotel Services Supervisor within the Trusts Hotel Services Team.

Hotel Services Supervisors are responsible for the day to day management of Hotel Services staff including housekeepers, domestics, porters and receptionists, who provide and maintain a high standard of soft services support, cleanliness and the provision of food. As a Hotel Services Supervisor you will work as part of the Operational Services Team to provide a clean, safe, supportive environment in which patients can recuperate.

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic with your team. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement of services and our excellent standards.

This post involves shift work including late/early, week-ends and bank holidays. You will be required to work different varying shifts between the hours of 07.00am – 6.30pm.

The post you are applying for is 30 hours per week permanent post and your base will be Foss Park Hospital Haxby road York YO31 8TA. You may be required to work in different locations within a team covering the following areas York, Malton, Scarborough, Middleborough and Stockton.

You should be highly motivated, reliable, flexible and willing to work at short notice. Substantial experience working in Hotel Services in a hospital environment and experience supervising staff on a day to day basis are required and the ability to get things done using your own initiative in a demanding environment. Experience of working in a mental health environment would be appreciated along with a passion to providing high standards of customer service.

Candidates must possess NVQ Level 3, Food Hygiene Certificate Level 4 or work towards successful completion in an agreed timescale, Numeracy and Literacy to level 2, ITQ Level 2 and demonstrate commitment to undertake further training and qualifications, in particular NVQ Level 4 in Management.
