An opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals to join the Data Quality Team at Northern Devon Healthcare Trust. This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover staff secondments. Both full-time and part-time working will be considered.

Good data quality is essential for delivering high quality patient care and patient safety. Quality data plays a role in improving services and decision making, as well as being able to identify trends and patterns, draw comparisons, predict future events and outcomes, and evaluate services.

The post holder will identify areas where data quality needs to be improved and the subsequent actions to be taken, and carry out corrections to hospital systems where incorrect or missing data are identified. They will assist with the implementation and maintenance of data quality and assurance projects across the Trust, developing and adopting new sustainable solutions to ensure effective and measurable improvements are achieved in information and data quality.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent organisational and keyboard skills and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. They will also pay close attention to detail, be able to work to tight deadlines, be adaptable to changing or challenging situations and be able to manage and prioritise their own work efficiently.

Good communication skills and the ability to interact with staff at all levels both internal and external are essential. A basic knowledge of SQL and previous experience with NHS patient administration systems are also desirable.

The post is based in the Digital Services department at North Devon District Hospital and you will be expected to work both on site and from home.
