Health Care Assistant

Whitworth Medical Centre is a forward-thinking Practice, based in Whitworth, Lancashire. We are looking for a Health Care Assistant, who possesses excellent team qualities, to join our friendly GP Practice and assist in providing personal medical services to Patients, within both the Practice, and the community setting.

The Practice has over 7,300 Patients and we aim to provide the highest quality care to our Practice population.

The successful applicant will be fully supported by 5 Doctors, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and an experienced Administration Team.

You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2/3 and act as a focal point of communication between Patients, Doctors, Nurses and other members of the Health Care Team.

The successful candidate will carry out General Practice HCA duties, which include being able to take and record procedures such as BP, taking bloods, administering flu (and other) vaccinations, B12 injections, health checks and helping with all other chronic condition monitoring. The post will also include some administrative duties. You will ideally be experienced in a General practice setting with knowledge of Emis Web clinical system, however training will be provided to the right candidate.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be computer literate. A full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle are both essential to this role.

The position is full time - 37.5 hours per week across 5 days. We offer a competitive salary, which is negotiable dependent on experience. Your continuous personal development will be encouraged and fully supported.
