Then the Trainee Nursing Associate role could be for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new cohort of Trainee Nursing Associates (TNA) within the Children’s Hospital. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality, patient-centred care, bridging the gap between the role of the care support worker and registered nurse.

This is an apprenticeship where you will have the opportunity to ‘’earn while you learn’’ throughout the duration of the programme. You will be employed in a two-year Trainee Nursing Associate role on a fixed term contract at Leeds Teaching Hospitals (LTHT) and undertake your academic studies with the Open University. Please note, you will be expected to complete a university application form.

We are looking to recruit for our next cohort in February 2022 and allocations will be within the Children’s hospital and Neonates.

Entry requirements are:

External candidates; Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent and Level 3 diploma in a health related topic or equivalent. Healthcare experience is essential.

Candidates employed by LTHT: Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent. Level 2 diploma in Clinical Support Worker with significant experience working as a Clinical Support Worker at Band 2.

*Please note if you are an overseas candidate you will require a combined score of 7 for IELTS to achieve university entry.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.

LTHT will request electronic Factual Employment References from your previous employers. These references will be requested before you are issued with an unconditional offer of employment letter.
