Then the Trainee Nursing Associate role could be for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new cohort of Trainee Nursing Associates (TNA) in both Adults areas. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality, patient-centred care, bridging the gap between the role of the care support worker and registered nurse.

This programme is part of our Future You career development programme where you can complete the TNA programme and if desired, complete the Transfer to nursing programme to become a Registered Nurse within 5 years.

This is an apprenticeship where you will have the opportunity to ‘’earn while you learn’’ throughout the duration of the programme. You will be employed in a two-year Trainee Nursing Associate role on a fixed term contract at Leeds Teaching Hospitals (LTHT) and undertake your academic studies at either Leeds Beckett University (LBU).

Note: you will be expected to complete a university application form. See attached notes on what to include in your supporting information as this will also be required by the university.

Successful applicants applying to this post to study at Leeds Beckett University will need to complete relevant checks before been offered an interview. You will need to submit supporting information as per the ‘APTEM’ process by the deadline given from DA Applications.

You will not be offered an interview until this is complete and following a successful interview you will need to complete recruitment checks at LTHT to be offered a post.

We are looking to recruit for our next cohort in February 2022.

Entry requirements are:

External candidates; Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent and Level 3 diploma in a health related topic or equivalent. 12 months Healthcare experience is essential.

Candidates employed by LTHT: Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent. Level 2 diploma in Clinical Support Worker with 12 months post qualification experience working as a Clinical Support Worker at Band 2.

*Please note if you are an overseas candidate you will require a minimum combined score of 6 for IELTS with no skill below 5.5 to achieve university entry. More information can be found here IELTS

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.

LTHT will request electronic Factual Employment References from your previous employers. These references will be requested before you are issued with an unconditional offer of employment letter.
