Radiology- Administration Team

BAND 6

37.5 HOURS PER WEEK - 12 month fixed term/secondment

We wish to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to manage our Radiology Administration Team and waiting lists on a fixed term basis, to cover maternity leave of the existing post holder.

The main duties covered in the role include being responsible for actively managing capacity and demand with Radiology Services and supporting Modality Leads with queries; along with assisting the Radiology Services Leads with monitoring outsourcing requirements, utilising WLI sessions and actively overseeing waiting times and waiting lists. The role also involves the direct line management of 6 Band 4’s staff including the completion of appraisals, monitoring core skills compliance and the product of reports, and supporting the Band 4’s in line management of the Band 2 clerical team.

Ideally the post holder will have some experience of working in the NHS, but is not essential.

The successful candidate will show they can work effectively without direct supervision. They must also be able to show a willingness and ability to support other team members and to adapt to changes in the service needs.

The successful applicant will be given specific training in all areas and follow an in house training program that will equip them to become an integral part of the Administration Team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a committed professional with strong interpersonal skills to further develop their experience within the NHS. The post holder will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure they can work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure Radiology continues to provide a high quality service to all its users. The post holder will have excellent time management and ability to self prioritise work load to meet deadlines.

A flexible and forward thinking approach is needed to ensure Radiology meets the challenges of the constantly developing healthcare environment, with a focus on 7 day working and working towards the Imaging Services Accreditation.

Anyone applying for a position which involves a regulated activity will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and that the disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children or working with adults or both.

Informal enquires welcomed by Elaine Dickson, Radiology Services Lead on 0191 445 2479.

Applicants who have not been contacted within 4 weeks of the closing date are to assume that their application has been unsuccessful.

Applications are welcomed from candidates who may require sponsorship through the UK Border Agency to work in the UK. However, those candidates must be aware that appointment to the post may not be considered if a suitably qualified experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available and/or the post does not attract sufficient points.
