Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. Bolton Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service is looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Speech & Language Therapists to take on Specialist roles working within adult acute, stroke and community caseloads. We are an integrated service working across the borough of Bolton; with links to neighbourhood teams as part of the Bolton Integrated Care Partnership and opportunities to develop new and innovative ways of working. Roles available will enable you to work with patients with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties across our acute stroke wards and community caseloads, dependent on service need and your clinical skills and/or interests. You will need to demonstrate specialist skills in dysphagia assessment and management and be able to take a lead on communication intervention. Experience in instrumental dysphagia assessment would be desirable.

We are a friendly and innovative team, where you will have opportunities to develop specialist skills further according to service need and your own interests. Clinical supervision is available from highly specialist SLTs and peer support is also available. You will be expected to take a lead on audit and/or service developments relevant to your role. You will be required to prepare and deliver training to health care professionals on the role of Speech and Language Therapy, dysphagia awareness and awareness of communication difficulties.

You will have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification, HCPC registration and RCSLT membership, experience of working with an adult SLT caseload and excellent team working skills.

Flexible working is available and part-time roles will be considered.
