The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance and advice on promoting high quality health, public health and social care.

Our role is to improve outcomes for people using the NHS and other public health and social care services. We do this by:

  • Producing evidence-based guidance and advice for health, public health and social care practitioners.
  • Developing quality standards and performance metrics for those providing and commissioning health, public health and social care services;
  • Providing a range of information services for commissioners, practitioners and managers across the spectrum of health and social care.

The Role:

Reporting to the associate director, the project manager will be responsible for overseeing transformation projects in the Centre for Health Technology Evaluation (CHTE). This role is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2022 to provide backfill for an external secondment.

What you will bring to NICE:

To be considered for this role, we are looking for:

  • An experienced project manager with excellent communication skills
  • A collaborative team player, able to lead teams effectively
  • A strategic mindset, ready to support, implement, and monitor transformation projects in line with NICE’s new 5-year strategy

The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • First degree, relevant project management qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience in the management of complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective and persuasive communicator demonstrating oral, written and presentation skills with a high degree of personal credibility
  • Skilled problem solver capable of a high degree of risk analysis and risk management
  • High drive and determination to complete a task where the work is unpredictable and/or complex and deadlines are tight
  • Ability to extract, analyse and interpret complex information and present it in a simplified manner to a varied audience

The Department:

The CHTE transformation team is responsible for supporting transformation projects within the Centre for Health Technology Evaluation. Part of a small project team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to developing processes, reviewing operational procedures, identifying areas for improvement and overseeing the implementation of agreed changes.
