Administrator - Band 3 - Community Services Team 22.5hpw pr Permanent

Could you help West Suffolk Hospital to deliver the best quality and safest care to our local community?

An opportunity has arisen to join the Community and Integrated Services Business Support Team to provide administrative support to various managers within Community and Integrated Services. The post-holder will be based at the Disability Resource Centre, Bury St. Edmunds, however, travel to other bases within West Suffolk may be required occasionally. The post holder will be part of a small business support team, but must be comfortable working solely and remotely.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Providing day to day business support, including diary management and arranging meetings.

  • Attending virtual meetings to take informal minutes and action logs.

  • Managing a number of tasks simultaneously, being able to keep track of ongoing tasks and ensuring deadlines are adhered to.

  • Confident with MS Office applications, compiling reports, creating and managing databases.

The post holder needs to be willing to assist various members of the management team and may be occasionally be required to work remotely and across a variety of bases within West Suffolk, therefore an ability to provide remote support is a key requirement of the role.

The successful candidate needs to have the ability to work using your own initiative within a small business support team and be competent in all applications of Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential as is the ability to multi-task and deliver conflicting priorities within set timeframes.

The successful candidate for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure at Enhanced level.


For Band 1 and Band 2 posts, the cost of the DBS Disclosure will be met by the Trust. However, any employees at Band 1 and Band 2 who leave the Trust within six months of commencing their post will have a £10 administration fee deducted from their final salary. For posts at Band 3 and above, the cost of the Disclosure will be met by the appointed employee and deducted in instalments from their salary over a period of three months. If the employee leaves the Trust within three months of commencing their post, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their final pay.
