Applications are invited for maternity cover for the position of Deputy Quality Assurance Manager within the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Department, to join the Pharmacy Aseptic Production Service as well as the wider senior Pharmacy Team at the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (formerly Southend University Hospital FT, Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital FT and Mid Essex Hospital Trust).

As a Deputy Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the duties relating to the release of items prepared or procured under the Trusts MHRA MS and WDA licences, these include a wide range of ready to administer products, Pre-packing and overlabelling, and Radiopharmaceuticals. You will also contribute to the management of the departments Pharmaceutical Quality System and assist with the provision of expert advice on all Quality matters that support the wider Pharmacy department.

The Deputy Quality Laboratory Manager will act as deputy to the Laboratory Manager in the day to day management of the Quality Assurance Laboratory at Southend Hospital (including the Laboratory Managers deputising role for the Head of Quality), and in maintaining a full Quality Assurance service for contracted customers, according to the requirements of the Medicines Act, the Medicines and healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the guidelines of the Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice of Medicinal Products (the Orange Guide).

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and dynamic individual who as a member of the Pharmacy QA team will support the Head of Quality and QA Laboratory Manager.
