Configuration Manager

Job Reference: 415-A-21-34327

Employer:
Northern Devon Healthcare Trust
Department:
MY CARE Northern Devon
Location:
Barnstaple
Salary:
£45,753 - £51,668

Configuration Manager

MY CARE, an electronic patient record (EPR) system supplied by renowned health software developers Epic, improves the experience for patients, staff and carers by connecting people and information.

MY CARE was successfully rolled out at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) in October 2020 and as part of the proposed integration of Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT) and RD&E, we have now received national funding to rollout MY CARE across Northern Devon.

With a go-live date planned for Summer 2022, this fantastic investment aims to improve the care and services we provide for our patients and communities, we are recruiting a Configuration Manager to join the NDHT programme implementation team.

The Configuration Manager will be responsible for the Epic Inpatients module to ensure its content and timely delivery, and must therefore be fully conversant with that area’s working practices and processes.

The Configuration Manager will be responsible for tracking and reporting on their team’s configuration build whilst ensuring its delivery to scope, time and budget. As well as supporting their team, the post-holder will themselves undertake training to learn complex Epic skills and will be expected to carry out configuration build requirements. This is a fast-paced role which will utilise the post-holder’s sound clinical and/or operational and/or information system knowledge combined with excellent project (and/or implementation) and people management skills.

We are seeking applicants from a wide variety of NHS disciplines and welcome those who possess excellent IT skills, have a thirst for learning something new and have a genuine interest in achieving improved patient pathways through the implementation of the Epic EPR system. Full training in Epic configuration will be given whilst in post.

These positions are available with an immediate start as secondments or fixed term contracts (until September 2022) with potential for a further extension and/or permanent employment thereafter.

Please note that training for this role may take place in both the UK and the USA. It is therefore essential that you hold a current passport and are able to commit to travel abroad on dates set by the Trust and in line government travel restrictions/guidelines at the time.

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to attend an assessment centre for testing. There will be a range of times and dates from which to choose. Successful applicants will then be invited back for interview.

An enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated programme implementation team will be central to successfully rolling out MY CARE across Northern Devon. If you have the skills needed to make a difference to the lives of local people by being a part of this dynamic and forward-thinking programme, please apply now.

Should you like an informal discussion about the role, please contact the recruitment team at ndht.mycare-recruitment@nhs.net

***Preference will be given to staff with ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon.***

DUE TO THE ANTICIPATED HIGH NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POST WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE VACANCY BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE.

This post is being offered as Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust continue to develop our long standing partnership with a view to becoming a single integrated organisation across Eastern and Northern Devon. Working together gives us the opportunity to offer unique and varied careers across our services combining the RD&E’s track record of excellence in research, teaching and links to the university with NDHT’s innovation and adaptability.

Our values guide everything we do. At all times, we aim to:

  • Demonstrate compassion
  • Strive for excellence
  • Respect diversity
  • Act with integrity
  • Listen and support others

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applicants.
