We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated Receptionist for our busy community-based clinic at Battenburg Child Development Centre.

As a member of our reception team, you will need to adhere to the NHS bare below elbows policy:

Clothing – Remove or roll up long sleeves.

Jewellery - With the exception of one smooth metal ring all other rings, wristwatches and other jewellery must be removed. No stoned rings can be worn.

Nails - Nails must be short and clean. Free from false nails, polish or treatments that leave a visible coating on the nail.

This is a 22.5 hours post. The hours will be Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm and another 2 days between Monday and Thursday, also 8:30am to 4:30pm. These additional 2 days are negotiable.

The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills together with IT skills. The ability to work to tight deadlines is also an essential requirement of this post. You will need to be a resourceful and organised receptionist and capable of delivering high quality administrative and reception support. Knowledge of Children's Services would be preferable.

You will have a caring and courteous manner and enjoy working with and meeting people. You will also need to be able to work unsupervised and display initiative, whilst working autonomously or as part of a team. You will be working within the Community Paediatric medical service and working in liaison with clinicians and families. Other duties could include the audio typing of clinic letters and other administrative tasks such as filing, answering the phone, scanning and photocopying. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work effectively using their own initiative.

The candidate will need to possess GCSE English Language, or equivalent qualification, at grade 4/C or above, as well as previous receptionist experience, preferably in a healthcare or customer-based setting but this is not essential!
