Deputy Director of People Services

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust provides a unique opportunity to work within an integrated organisation delivering Mental Health, Ambulance, Community & Acute Services and this is an exciting time to join the Trust as we develop in our joint partnership transformation programme. The People & Organisational Development Division is a key enabler for the implementation of the Trusts strategy as we work in partnership across Hampshire & the Isle of Wight.This provides opportunities to consider new ways of working, to develop innovative approaches to recruitment and retention and to strengthen our services for the Island population.

We are looking for an experienced senior HR professional with exceptional leadership skills to join our team as Deputy Director of People Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join the People & OD Senior Leadership Team and help us to attract, develop and retain highly skilled, engaged and compassionate people who thrive to make a positive difference to patient care.

About the Role:

The Successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of People & OD; the post holder will be one of two deputies for the Director and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality workforce resourcing and workforce planning to enable the Trust to deliver its strategic objectives and deliver outstanding services to our community.

Working with senior colleagues, the post holder will be responsible for setting and maintaining high standards of service delivery in the areas of recruitment; workforce information, systems and planning; medical staffing, employee relations and occupational health. A key focus of this role will be in supporting the development of quality improvements across these services and ensuring the delivery of our People & OD Strategy.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to the delivery of proactive services; an individual who is comfortable working under pressure and collaborating with key stakeholders across the organisation. You will need excellent organisational, analytical, communication and planning skills with a high attention to detail and process. The successful candidate should be able to work in a fast paced environment with strong time-management skills and must be able to work strategically with a desire to create an inclusive culture aligned to our Trust values: Compassion, Accountable, Respect, Everyone Counts.
