Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to come and work within the Capital Development Team, Estates & Facilities Division at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.

Reporting to the Estates Manager Higher Level (Projects), you will be responsible for the building design and management of construction projects, taking lead responsibility as directed. You will integrate with all sections of the Estates and Facilities Division and liaise with Trust staff and project professionals.

If you are an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager who enjoys a challenge, can demonstrate design, construction and strategic project experience, ideally with architectural experience, and are looking for a varied and fulfilling role, then we are looking for you to join us.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is building on its Foundation Trust status and impressive track record and has many exciting projects to deliver including a major hospital redevelopment. The main site is Leighton Hospital in Crewe which is the base for the Capital Development Team.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • HND/Degree in a Construction related subject

Desirable

  • Holds Chartered Status with relevant Professional Body.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in design and management of Construction and Engineering projects.
  • Familiarisation with standard forms of contracts used in building and engineering projects.

Desirable

  • Experience in design and management of Construction projects in a Health Service context.
  • Good working knowledge of Capital Investment Manuals.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC Contracts.

 

Skills, ability and knowledge

Essential

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to gain co-operation and compliance from those outside your management control.
  • Robust project management skills.
  • Knowledge of construction project design
  • Effective communication skills - written and oral.
  • IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable

  • Demonstrating maturity in dealing with multi-professional/multi-agency groups.
  • Ability to be responsible for own personal development.
  • Competent with AutoCAD/Revit and building design.

 

Personal Qualities
