The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance and advice on promoting high quality health, public health and social care.

Our role is to improve outcomes for people using the NHS and other public health and social care services. We do this by:

  • Producing evidence-based guidance and advice for health, public health and social care practitioners.
  • Developing quality standards and performance metrics for those providing and commissioning health, public health and social care services;
  • Providing a range of information services for commissioners, practitioners and managers across the spectrum of health and social care.

We are looking for an experienced operations and governance lead who can support us in the operational management and reporting of our digital and technology activity.

The Role:

Reporting to the Programme Director, DIT strategy and governance, the DIT Business Operations and Governance Lead will be responsible for leading a team who contribute to digital and technology delivery for NICE by providing procurement, resourcing financial tracking and administrative support to the DIT team. This role will be key to help our ongoing management and reporting of our digital and technology roadmap and working with our teams to ensure we meet the quality and governance requirements that are required of us as a public sector organisation.

What you will bring to NICE:

To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of preparing financial / MI reports involving engaging with multiple stakeholders to gather information including Finance and Procurement professionals and business representatives
  • Experience of designing and managing processes to support organisation/ programme/ project governance and assurance such as regular reporting, reconciliation of financial/resource/MI, quality assurance of documents, audits of information etc
  • Experience of tracking contracts for procured goods and services including pro-active management of payment schedules, invoicing and renewal dates

The Department:

The Digital, Information & Technology directorate is a 70 strong team of digital, information and technology professionals. This role is part of the Strategy & Governance team that is responsible for the creation of the digital and technology delivery plans and the assurance and governance of those. This role will lead the DIT Business Operations team and have direct line management of that team (currently 4 staff members) r
