Arden & GEM CSU is searching for a talented individual to support the Armed Forces Health England Team.

The role is within NHS England’s Armed Forces health commissioning team on a secondment/fixed term basis until 31st March 2023.

The Armed Forces health commissioning team is responsible for ensuring that NHS England commissions high quality, safe, effective health services to meet the needs of the Armed Forces in England.

 

NHS England works closely with the Ministry of Defence and other key stakeholders such as CCGs to ensure that, where appropriate, there is a safe transition of healthcare services for those who are leaving the Armed Forces as a consequence of illness or injury.

The team also commissions some bespoke mental health services for veterans and works with CCGs to ensure the effective commissioning and delivery of care for veterans across England.

As an Armed Forces Health Care Coordinator, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Armed Forces Health team. The primary aim of the role is to proactively manage a cohort of patients using a personalised approach to ensure that their care needs are met. The cohort will include patients, from the serving community and veterans, with a variety of needs including those who have been severely physically injured and those with mental health problems.
