Mental Health Practitioner / Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Band 5 /6 depending on experience

37.5 hours/week - shifts

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Mental Health Practitioner / Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Older People’s Crisis Home Treatment Team. This role offers a wealth of experience for newly professionally qualified staff and those who are looking for a senior role to develop their skills in leadership and complex crisis work.

We are a specialist service, offering crisis intervention and intensive home treatment as an alternative to hospital admission. For service users who require admission to inpatient care, you will be responsible for the smooth transition into our inpatient units, liaison with acute and community colleagues and the facilitation of timely discharge. Within this role, the Post Holder will be responsible for the assessment, implementation, planning and evaluation of the care of service users referred to the service, within numerous settings including community and inpatient. You will be required to work in a fast paced and reactive environment with service users experiencing acute mental health symptoms (of both a functional and organic nature), those with a history of self-harm and people who are presenting with suicidality. Sound clinical knowledge and decision making skills are required for this exciting role.

Senior Mental Health Practitioners will be expected to oversee the daily allocation of both crisis and home treatment work, carry out the most complex assessments and take on the role of the Shift Leader.

 

All positions are subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and medical clearance. Evidence of valid professional registration and appropriate DBS clearances will also be required where relevant. All posts will also be subject to successful completion of a 12 week probationary period.

 

Please note that all new employees joining NAViGO will be able to contribute to the NHS pension.
