We are proud to be an organisation which is focused on our people and we welcome people who share our values to come and work with us.

  • To be a caring, flexible and supportive place to work
  • To deliver the best value for money

We are looking for an experienced clinical psychologist who can specialise in the assessment and treatment of older people with mental health problems. Key responsibilities include providing psychological assessment, evidence-based therapies and contributing to MDT care planning and review. The post holder will also provide neurological assessments and, alongside the lead psychologist for working age adults acute services, consultation to the acute services for older people. You will also contribute to the broader adult therapy service for patients with severe or complex mental health problems.

Joining a team of experienced therapists who provide CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT and CAT and receive therapy-specific peer supervision we are expanding and developing our service and from October 2021 we will be training Clinical Associate Psychologists to support all qualified psychology staff and functions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic clinical psychologist to join our all-age psychological therapy service in Solent NHS Trust. You will be joining a small and supportive trust where psychologists and psychological therapists work closely with other professionals and multi-disciplinary teams to offer high-quality care across Portsmouth, predominantly based at St Mary’s Community Campus. The aim of the service is to provide a needs-led rather than age-led service with increased access to psychological therapies for older people.

We welcome candidates who may need further experience or training to fulfill this role at an 8A grade and are happy to discuss with you further training in CAT or trauma therapy or neurological assessment. We can be flexible about hours worked though you will be asked to participate in team meetings at certain times in the week.

For this post, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car.

For more information on the post, please contact Dr Lorraine Bell, Consultant Clinical Psychologist on 07764631257. Informal visits are also welcomed.
