We are Manchester Local Care Organisation - an exciting public sector organisation that is bringing together NHS community health services and social care services in the city. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries.

The first health and social care staff were deployed to us from April 2018 and are now working in new ways across the city. Our teams work as one in the neighbourhoods they serve – delivering and designing services in partnership with local people. We also provide key services that work across wider localities and city-wide. Are you committed to positively promoting the health and well being of children and families? Visiting a variety of families, including some of the most vulnerable, as a Health Visitor you’ll be an enabling and positive influence in the early days of a child’s development. Whether you’re advising on infant feeding, parenting or promoting positive health messages, the child will be at the centre of your evidence-based care.

You will have well-honed interpersonal skills to identify low protective factors and indicators of neglect or abuse at the earliest opportunity. Through your skills of critical analysis, you’ll develop strengths based plans of care to build individual and family resilience, promote positive wellbeing and improve health outcomes and self-efficacy. Every family will have different success stories or challenges, so no two days will be the same.

Where additional needs are identified you will work in partnership with both community staff nurses and nursery nurses within your team, as well as other allied professionals from the wider multi-agency team to agree the integrated plan of care. Your reports will contribute to vital decision-making at universal partnership-plus level.

RGN/ RN Child & RHV registered with a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification. With the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, you will need to have strong leadership skills to take forward the quality delivery of the universal Healthy Child Programme. A flexible and responsive clinician, keen to innovate practice developments and influence health and Trust policy. As a Health Visitor in Manchester, you will have access to the latest IT equipment enabling mobile working across the city and easy access to evidence based tools to support the highest quality care and resources are delivered to the families and children who need them most.
