Renal OPD & Renal Clinical Investigations Unit (RCIU) at Freeman Hospital is an outpatient area, currently open Monday – Friday. In this area, there are a number of different renal clinics and also an investigations unit. The role of the Band 7 Senior Sister / Charge Nurse oversees both areas within the department, with staff working in all areas and clinics.

The role of the Band 7 Senior Sister / Charge Nurse is to provide essential leadership and management to our small staff group. As the successful candidate, you will be required to have a genuine passion for wanting to provide the best possible experience for our patients and staff. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, much of this role being supporting staff to achieve their full potential in delivering care to the highest possible standard.

You will be expected to have knowledge and experience within renal nursing care and you will need to have appropriate clinical skills and experience.

The Renal OPD and RCIU is a central area within the directorate so as the senior lead within this area, you will be required to coordinate and manage conflicting and demanding needs from across the multidisciplinary teams within the directorate and the Trust. You will need to be able to communicate with primary care providers and also other renal units across the region.

Your strengths and beliefs will need to align with the Trust professional & leadership behaviours and you will need to be able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the Trust and Nursing Strategy.

Full Time 37 Hours 30 Minutes/Week (currently open Monday – Friday)
