The Trust works in partnership with the NHS programme ‘Step into Health’, supporting ex-service personnel into a career in the NHS.

We are looking to recruit qualified High Intensity CBT therapists to work as part of the Inclusion Thurrock IAPT service to cover maternity leave for 1 year. We are hopeful of a possibility of conversion to a permanent position dependant on service need after one year.

This service provides high quality evidence-based psychological therapies in primary care across the Thurrock locality, based in surgeries, health centres and other community or health hubs.

The post holder will provide Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to patients with a range of common mental health problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective, and will be provisionally or fully accredited by the BABCP.

The Inclusion Thurrock IAPT Service is an exciting primary care mental health service that continues to thrive and expand since starting in April 2016. We provide an integrated primary care mental health service for the people of Thurrock, working as a multi-disciplinary team to provide a range of effective, evidence-based treatments for common mental health problems.

Promoting excellence in the delivery of evidence-based psychological therapies, we are committed to supporting clinical training/development, supervision and support for all workers. We are a very friendly team, committed to promoting the wellbeing of our workers, as well as our patients.

The service covers the whole of Thurrock, so some travel may be required. We are expecting the service to progress to a blended working model, delivering therapy in a variety of ways (face to face, via telephone, video and internet-enabled options). Currently all work is being delivered remotely, but this is expected to change in line with service restoration post-COVID.

In addition to IAPT, Inclusion Thurrock are significantly involved in the mental health transformation in Thurrock and currently provide therapy services as part of the Early Intervention in Psychosis team, a ‘Step 4’ service for people with more complex needs, and IPS Employment service, and a Recovery College. Inclusion Thurrock is also actively involved in the development of the new ‘At Risk Mental States’ (ARMS) service, as well as delivering substance misuse treatment and support through our sister service, Inclusion Visions.
