Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a deputy director of strategy to support collaborative working with Sussex Health and Care Partnership Integrated Care System (Sussex ICS) and all of the providers that operate within it. The key focus will be supporting the system served by SASH to develop a long term strategy to address health inequalities in the area, and ensure that plans to improve the health of the population are lead by clinicians in partnership with others to deliver measurable improvements in patient outcomes.

We are looking for someone who has a background in strategy development, multi-agency working and senior management experience within the acute sector.

Key duties will include:

  • Ensure there is a clear approach for SASH to support population health management and that programmes of work are in place to address health inequalities
  • Develop strong relationships across the system to ensure the development of shared strategic priorities and plans. This will involve a positive and proactive contribution to the development of the ICS, the ICP, collaboratives, networks and locality partnership groups
  • Lead strategy input to annual business and operational planning to ensure that system priorities are appropriately reflected
  • Lead long term strategy development for the Sussex part of the SASH geography to ensure delivery of integrated services and the development of financially sustainable services that deliver the best outcomes for patients
  • Develop appropriate collaborative structures which will be a combination of vertical as well as horizontal partnerships
  • Ensure that the patient voice is at the forefront of service improvement throughout our geography
