Duplication to Personalisation is Collaborative Newcastle’s exciting new project, bringing the best of the shared trust built between partners and leveraging innovative analytics to support front line teams from across health and care to come together in personalising care with local people, and to reduce inequalities across the city.

The project focuses on bringing together data that already exists in our different organisations using data science techniques such as automation and artificial intelligence to analyse it in new ways. A dedicated team will analyse and present the data in ways that will empower a panel of front line health and care teams to do things differently. This new approach will help us to identify people with health and care needs or challenges that aren’t being met effectively, so that we can be more proactive and help people much sooner.

The data will give us the opportunity to improve people’s health and wellbeing, which may be outside of ‘traditional’ health services but which the Collaborative Newcastle partners can collectively deliver. For example, helping someone to join a community group, get a job or have their roof fixed. It is expected that long-term this data and insight-led approach will give us greater confidence to pool our resources and spend our money differently.

We are looking for a project team to take forward this exciting new initiative. All posts will be hosted by The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join the Duplication to Personalisation team as a Health Economist. This is a fixed term contract until June 2023.

The post holder will work closely with the Duplication to Personalisation team to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the programme by taking the lead on health economic evaluations. This is an excellent opportunity to be able to contribute to shaping advice and decision making across Newcastle and helping to ensure timely and equitable access for patients to personalised healthcare. The post holder will play a key role in producing, developing and delivering a range of economic models which communicate the costs and benefits of new healthcare interventions and pathways initiated by the Duplication to Personalisation project. The successful candidate will make recommendations on where the resources should be spent long term.

The role requires a clear thinking and methodical approach with strong quantitative and analytical skills. You will have experience of the principles and practice of health economics, including designing, building, populating, quality assuring health economics models and evaluating programmes of work. You will be able to digest and interpret complex health economic data and guidance. Strong influencing and communications skills to inform the decisions of senior clinicians and managers across Newcastle are required. Excellent interpersonal skills, supported by good oral, written and presentation skills are also essential. The ability to work autonomously and experience in or an awareness of the healthcare environment is essential.
