We’re looking for the dynamic and most able nurses of the future to bring their compassion, dedication and enthusiasm to become part of our Healthcare teams to deliver brilliant care and ultimately help transform the lives of the patients we care for.

The opportunity

During this three and half year programme you will join a cohort of fellow students and follow a clear pathway of clinical excellence. Our unique scholarships will blend hands on work experience supporting our patients with academic study. Our expert academic and clinical staff will support you to complete our Certificate in Higher Education which will in turn give you access to Year 2 of your nursing degree in either Mental Health or Learning Disability nursing. Once you have gained your degree you will take your first Staff Nurse post and from there a number of exciting career development opportunities will await you.

Some more about you

  • You’ll be passionate about becoming a nurse in Mental Health or Learning Disability
  • You’ll have good GCSE grade in Maths and English (Grade 4 minimum)
  • Our patients and your colleagues will expect you to live the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence every single day
  • You’re likely to have a real drive to attend university but not necessarily the support or means to do so
  • You’ll have a real personal drive to work and study hard

  • If you’re successful we will provide you with the equivalent of £9,000 worth of education
  • Give you paid employment for 18 month and exposure to clinical work before going to university
  • Offer you £18,000 per year financial support whilst at university
