SENIOR STAFF NURSE (Charge Nurse) – BAND 6£31,365 to £37,890 pa plus RRP to be paid every 6 months

Adult Mental Health Services are looking to recruit to two 37.5 hours per week Senior Staff Nurse posts

Although this would be a predominantly early and late shift pattern, it may include 9-5 administrative shifts. Additionally, there maybe occasional requirement to participate in night shifts on a rota basis as or if required. Mulberry ward is a ward for Adults. There is a keen focus on development and quality. The ward is currently working towards accreditation. You would be part of a dedicated team who work closely together to ensure the ward is a therapeutic environment for patients to recover from their acute illness. You will receive all the training required for you to undertake your role in a supportive environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the senior team at Mulberry House. Mulberry House is an adult in-patient ward. As a potential candidate you most demonstrate the following:

  • Possess an RMN/RMNH qualification
  • Hold, or willing to become, Mentorship and sign-off status
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care
  • Be fully competent in the delivery of supervisions and PDR for junior staff
  • Possess strong managerial, motivational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Preferably have inpatients experience at Band 6

The main roles of the post will be to take charge of the ward on a regular basis and act up in the absence of the Ward Manager. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will provide a positive clinical lead for junior staff. A mature manner and the exercise of confidentiality and discretion is also important.
