Band 7 Clinical Psychologist(Developing specialism in Neuropsychology)

Full time – 12 months Fixed term

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a progressive and dynamic neuro-rehabilitation service on 12-month fixed term contract. The service includes an inpatient neuro-rehabilitation unit, a neuro-rehabilitation community based team and a community stroke rehabilitation team.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across three Neurorehabilitation services as part of a group of Clinical Psychology staff and working closely with the Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. The post will require a well-grounded ability to work within interdisciplinary team settings and work as an integrated member of those teams offering expertise on issues relating to Clinical Neuropsychology.

This post offers a varied opportunity to develop skills in specialist neuropsychological assessment and neuro rehabilitation in both inpatient, out patient and community settings. Clinical input will include working directly with patients and their families, as well as consultation work with health and social care colleagues. Support and regular clinical supervision will be available from a Clinical Neuropsychologist.

The successful candidate will be HCPC registered and have Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology and have in interest in developing their skills in Clinical Neuropsychology in service that offers specialist Neuro-rehabilitation across a range settings and service users groups.

We encourage involvement in clinical research and service- based evaluation, which leads to service development and service user benefit. Staff are encouraged and supported in developing their CPD. The service has good links with both the University of Sheffield and Hull Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training courses.
