The Role

Chief Executive - Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is an exceptional organisation with big ambitions; our aim is to be the leading provider of mental health and specialist learning disability services in the country.

With a workforce of around 3,500 people and an annual income of some £330 million this year, the Trust provides integrated health and social care services through a network of community and inpatient settings, serving diverse communities across Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Norfolk. As a university NHS foundation trust, HPFT continues to develop strong links with the University of Hertfordshire, providing excellent learning and development opportunities, as well as strengthening our clinical research capability.

Whilst it is a challenging period for the NHS, there has never been a more exciting time to join HPFT. In 2019 the CQC rated our services overall as being outstanding and we were the HSJ Mental Health Trust of the Year in 2020. Building on this, we continue to innovate, improve, transform and ultimately deliver the very highest standards of care to the service users and communities that we serve.

We are now seeking a new Chief Executive with the enthusiasm and ambition to lead us. We are looking for a leader who can demonstrate a commitment to delivering great care and achieving great outcomes. You will be an advocate for service user involvement and empowering our staff to deliver the best services they can. You will bring a proven track record of successful senior leadership in a complex service delivery organisation with experience of developing strategy in a multi-stakeholder environment and converting this into measurable service benefits, as well as in building relationships and working successfully with stakeholders. Also essential will be a commitment to service excellence and a strong alignment to our core values of Welcoming, Kind, Positive, Respectful, Professional.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all. The best boards are those that reflect the communities we serve and therefore applications from all backgrounds are welcomed.

Please do not submit your application on this site as recruitment to this post is being managed by our Recruitment Partner Odgers Berndtson.
