Are you a Family Nurse or an experienced health visitor or midwife with a strong clinical background of working with families in deprived communities and looking for a new and exciting opportunity?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Nurse, health visitor or midwife to join the Family Nurse Partnership team in Portsmouth. This role will be permanent and full time (37.5 hours).

We are an integrated 0-19 service with the Local Authority and work with the wider multi-agency and multi-disciplinary children’s workforce to identify need and provide timely intervention at the earliest opportunity.

You will be supporting the Public Health 0-19 Operational and Clinical Lead with service development and driving forward further integration with the Local Authority. We are looking for create a seamless and flexible service that undertakes whole family working with the focus on the right person with the right skill set supporting the family at the time they need it.

The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is a national evidence-based early intervention programme. The aim of the programme is to improve the antenatal health, child health and developmental outcomes, along with improvements to parents’ economic self-sufficiency in disadvantaged young families.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and compassionate individual who is looking to further develop their public health nursing skills to deliver a quality evidence-based programme to families. They will need to demonstrate they have a diverse skill set to meet the needs of this demanding role and commitment to the ethos and principles of the FNP programme. This includes being highly skilled in communication with a strong approach to teamwork.

There is a comprehensive training programme provided by the FNP National Unit and ongoing support and learning opportunities for learning alongside other family nurses.

Please note successful applicants who are not already a Family Nurse are required to attend mandatory residential training on 7th-11th February 2022.
