Our tactical plan is also in full swing and we need your active involvement now. Our ambition for the future hospital digital vision is to develop a unified, digitally mature infrastructure across our integrated health and care system, providing our population with seamlessly interconnected digital tools that enable preventative self-care and empower our workforce to deliver exceptional care, quality, and safety for all patients across acute and community settings in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall, in line with the best practice guidance.

We are looking to appoint a senior nurse, midwife or AHP with a genuine interest in digitally enhanced care as our Chief Nursing Information Officer on a whole time equivalent substantive post. The CNIO will provide clinical leadership to advance UHP’s Nursing’s adoption and implementation of the Digital First approach.

The CNIO will pioneer new ways of working and promote the “art of the possible”. They will lead on the promotion, innovation and transformation of clinical services and pathways using information and technologies across all nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals (AHPs). We are looking for someone with dynamic leadership skills who can bring real value to improving nursing practice and influence over digital technology and digital strategies.

As an experienced clinical leader, the CNIO will be in a unique position to truly understand the value the Digital First approach can bring to the advancement of clinical practice and quality of care at UHP and to the community at large.
