An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Team as Business Manager of our highly respected Newcastle Surgical Training Centre.

The Newcastle Surgical Training (Cadaveric) Centre (NSTC) which opened in September 2007 is a state of the art medical facility dedicated to furthering professional development using the very best training, education and equipment available. The Centre offers courses combining teaching and practical skills development delivered by highly trained professional clinicians. The Trust is licenced (Human Tissue Authority) to deliver education, research and training. This unique facility has achieved regional, national and international recognition and plays an important part in the national agenda to improve the safety and delivery of new near patient technology.

You will be a team player with a flexible approach to work, skilled in the areas of tendering, business case development, project management and financial management, prioritisation, negotiating and relationship management. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be highly organised, comfortable in your ability to meet tight deadlines. As a senior officer of the Trust you will have a role in supporting the Trust to meet its strategic objectives.

This is a dynamic role and key areas of responsibility include:

· Management of the Surgical Training Centre and technical and administration staff, ensuring delivery of proactive, responsive education and training programmes to regional, national and international learners, delivered in line with, for example, Royal Colleges, Health Education England North East (HEENE), Industry and Trust requirements.

· Policy development, planning, risk and performance management.

· Working with the Clinical Directors, Senior Managers and Consultant colleagues to develop, implement and monitor a business model, including development and implementation of commercial /business strategies, which future proof the Centre, build and maintain our reputation for excellence and increase NSTCs income capabilities.

· Project management, marketing and establishing new business.

· Ensure compliance with the Human Tissue Authority Regulatory Framework.
