Newcastle Hospitals currently has a vacancy for an IT officer (Band 5) who will join the Data Centre Technical Team within the Information Services and Technology Department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a busy support team, to assist in covering a wide range of duties.

Your role will involve

  • the day to day monitoring and management of the
  1. Trust server estate,
  2. the data storage infrastructure,
  3. the virtual infrastructure and
  4. the onsite datacentres,
  • provision of 2nd and 3rd line support to the Trust users,
  • provision of support to the Senior Engineers within the Infrastructure Team,
  • There will also be opportunities to take part in ongoing and new projects.

You should be educated to Degree Level in an IT related subject or have extensive experience in an IT support role, have excellent communication skills, be highly organised, self-motivated and efficient. Diagnose and trouble-shoot hardware and software and resolve within our Service Level Agreements.

You should also possess an in depth knowledge of Microsoft Server System products and a good working knowledge of Server (both Physical and virtual), Backup and Data Storage systems.

The role is based at Regent Point and is a full time position, 37 hours 30 minutes per week.
