We are seeking an enthusiastic Exercise Therapy Assistant to work within Southampton's Integrated COPD to assist in the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes and support COPD Consultant Clinics.

The role involves working with patients with long term lung conditions helping to maximise their function and support long term behaviour change.

This is a rewarding role requiring an individual with good people, organisational and administration skills. It is essential you are able to work in a team and be flexible in your approach. Candidates with experience of working with groups of patients / clients in an exercise environment are encouraged to apply. You will need to be confident with using digital methods of communication / video conferencing. You are required to have a keen eye for detail allowing you to document clinical records accurately on electronic patient systems. You will work under supervision of the clinicians and senior exercise therapists.

You will work within a team of Physiotherapists, Nurses, Exercise therapists, Psychologists, Respiratory Consultants and Administrators.

The Role will involve delivering COPD care across Southampton city at both health care sites, community venues and virtually. The post holder is required to be a car driver.

The Service currently runs between the hours of 08.00-18.00 and your work pattern will fall within those times. There are plans to be supporting some evening clinics/ classes to improve patient access. This means the service will run until 18.30/ 19.00 and when this develops you will be expected to support this on some days of the week within your allocated hours. There is no weekend working in this post at present.

The post is for 30 hours a week.
