Our Therapy Department is currently looking for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our Stroke team on a 9 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension by a further 3 months.

Working as part of a team of dedicated and skilled clinicians you will support the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to provide safe quality care to a range of stroke and medical patients on the stroke unit. You may also be involved in assisting with home visits or patients on other wards as required.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting is essential and experience of working with patients in a rehabilitation context will be an advantage.

You must be able to be part of the 7 day service that this team provides with an average expectation of working 2 weekends a month with compensatory rest days allocated by the rota coordinator in the week. Generally, the working pattern is 3 days on, 2 days off, 7 days on, 2 days off.

If you have the appropriate experience to work with these patients, an understanding of the importance of multi-disciplinary rehabilitation and can demonstrate a commitment to compassionate care we would love to hear from you.

Please note that this post is subject to an initial probationary period of six months, extendable up to a period of 12 months (excluding all Doctors and Dentists on national contracts). A DBS check may be required for new employees.
