The Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Band 4 Health and Fitness Instructor to join its Medium Secure Service in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate would be based on Marlborough House, a 28-bed male unit, working with individuals detained under the Mental Health Act.

As the health and fitness instructor you will be responsible for setting up and running the gym and sports programmes within the unit and developing sports and leisure links within the community. You will work with individual patients to support them in achieving their goals in relation to health and fitness and understanding of healthy living, including smoking cessation advice. You will be supported in your role by a team of Occupational Therapists and receive regular support and supervision. You will work with a multidisciplinary team including nursing staff, doctors and psychologists.
