Have you got what it takes to take on a new and challenging role? Calling on all organised, motivated Mental Health Nurses both newly qualified and experienced to join our team. We want Nurses that are passionate about delivering Person Centred Care, recognising people as individuals and being able to help people we care for to live their best life possible and to really make a difference to their health and well-being.

You will get to work with a Specialist team of staff and have the opportunity to work in a very special environment. You can really make a difference to our patients.

The Unit was newly opened last year and there are lots of plans and really good opportunities for our staff. We are a 14 bedded Specialist Unit caring for individuals with Huntington’s Disease. Although this is a very complex illness that will challenge and test, you will be a Nurse that stands out from other individuals.

This role will give you super grounding for your Nursing career whether you are just starting out on your career path or if you are an experienced Nurse, this role will give you the satisfaction to work within this Specialist Unit. As a newly qualified member of staff you will be provided with a new innovative 8 week introduction and orientation to Huntington’s disease specialist.

This will entail working within a unique supernumerary capacity to promote learning.

You will receive:

  • MDT specialism Training.
  • Regular 1.1 mentoring
  • Shadowing time with all disciplines and all grades of staff.
  • Weekly supervision
  • Opportunity to attend Outpatient Clinics
  • Time spent with Enrol-HD Research staff
  • Opportunity to work alongside the HD Community Team
  • Protected time for self-directed study / research
  • Payment of your NMC PIN for the first year by monthly instalments

This programme is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to assume responsibility for the day to day provision of care.

It is a statutory requirement for roles that involve work in care homes that staff are up to date with their Covid vaccination status to be able to work in that environment, unless the person has a valid medical exemption. For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, these are set in advance at a team level and you will join an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date.
