As an employee, you are accountable to ensure that you know to how to respond when you are concerned for the safety of a child, young person or adult at risk, applying the principles of the Family Approach to ensure evidence based analysis, risk management and appropriate action and escalation. SHFT require staff to work effectively together using the Family Approach to achieve better outcomes for adults, children and families. The Trust will support you in this duty by providing ongoing training, support and advice and have a Corporate Safeguarding Team who can be contacted for guidance and the provision of safeguarding supervision.


We are looking for Consultant Psychiatrists to join two of our established Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) In Havant and Waterlooville as well as Fareham and Gosport. You will be joining a group of 11 substantive consultants working across the acute care pathway and community within the East Hampshire area of Bordon, Petersfield, Havant, Waterlooville, Hayling Island, Fareham and Gosport.

We have established this to create a network through your first year with the Trust combining a tailored development programme and coaching with organisational understanding.  If you have an established career and wish to expand your leadership interests, the clinical lead position in community mental health is also available in this division locally and various other opportunities within the wider trust.  We have an active Research and Development function and we are always looking for more involvement in our research projects.  We have a close partnership local universities and training schemes supporting those consultants with a keen interest in medical education at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.  You will be able to use many opportunities to create a job plan that is satisfying and productive.
