An exciting opportunity has arisen for x 2 Band 6 Specialist Practitioners to join the multi-disciplinary team at our Leeds City Centre (Kirkgate) and Seacroft bases (Irford House). The roles are part of a pilot to support the transition of people who are rough sleeping who are experiencing mental health and substance uses issues, into specialist addiction treatment by increasing the current team’s capacity. You will work specifically within the Specialist Addiction Service COMHAD team (Co-occurring Mental Health and Drugs & Alcohol) for 12 months.

The job role will include providing specialist addiction treatment, including psychosocial and pharmacological interventions, harm reduction, & risk management to service users with co-existing mental health and/or pregnancy needs. The LYPFT team is trauma-informed and offers a formulation driven, psychological model.

The team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist, Mental Health Nurses, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Social Workers, Specialist Health Visitor and Specialist Midwifes.

The successful candidates will hold a caseload as well as delivering psychosocial interventions to service users to support the wider service. Excellent training, supervision and support from an experienced team based in a clinical centre of excellence will be offered.

We welcome applications from Non-Medical Prescribers, although not essential. We endeavour to support and develop the role of Non- Medical Prescribers within addiction services. Although these roles are part of a 12 month pilot, LYPFT is offering permanent contracts. The roles and will be based in this pilot for the first 12 months with suitable alternative roles will be found within LYPFT after this time should funding not be continued.

If a DBS Check is required for your role the Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost of the DBS check (Enhanced Check £48 or Standard Check £30) by way of deductions from your salary over the first 3 consecutive months of employment with the Trust. As a condition of your employment you will also be required to register with and to participate in the DBS Update Service, and will be responsible for maintaining payment, and subscription to the DBS Update Service (£13 annual payment).DBS checks for volunteers remain free of charge.
