Telephone Triage Nurse

Cumbria Health on Call (CHoC)
£27.47 per hour


We provide out of hours (OOH) primary care and Extended Access appointments to the population of Cumbria (500,000 people over a land mass of 2,613 square miles), working out of 12 clinical sites. Our core bases are:

  • Kendal
  • Barrow
  • Whitehaven
  • Carlisle
  • Penrith
  • Wigton

Telephone Triage Nurse Required - Evenings, Weekends and Bank Holidays

We require a flexible, motivated, experienced RGN with a minimum of 5 years post registration experience preferably in Accident and Emergency, Primary Care or 111 NHS. The successful applicant will provide assessment, advice and referral as appropriate by telephone, to a wide range of adults and children with varied minor illness / injury.


1st level NMC registration

  • Telephone Triage certificate or experience in Telephone consultation
  • High standard of communication skills and excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Availability and flexibility to work unscheduled care hours stated above
  • Willingness to contribute to local protocol development
  • Basic keyboard and computer skills
  • Evidence of C.P.D
  • Willingness to undertake Nightingale Teleguide Training
